I finally got to Japan!! All I could do was sleeping a lot…After I got up at 16:30, I was surprised at the 5 e-mails from my mother “Are you living!??” I slept more than 14 hours, but I was even surprised that Kotomi slept more than 19 hours!! Due to much sleeping, I can’t sleep now so I will suffer from jet lag a little longer.

Anyway, I am in my hometown, Niigata!! I came with Kana Y, chatting about memories in America. My heart is so filled with wonderful time in America that I’m still giving myself over to memories facing my PC and looking at blogs and listening to the music which remind me of mentors including unofficial mentors.

By the way, I will go to a driving school tomorrow. I must be careful not to experience a bad accident like Ji won did. I will get a driver's lisence during this summer vacation.

I believe that we can meet soon and keep in touch on the web.
See you soon~^^

Yesterday, we went to D.C. to see the town and white house. This was the last time to go to D.C. At first, I thought the view of town is different from one which I have ever seen before. The houses and stores were cute and their height was almost the same. Also, they look similar to each other on the outside. I feel that I want to live such a cute house some day.
After we saw the town, we went to White house. I couldn’t see it near by, but I was glad to see it for the first time.

Today is the almost last day to spend time with mentors and teachers. I really enjoyed this summer program thanks to them. I’m very happy to meet such a beautiful people. Through this program, I feel that I could develop my English skills so I really appreciate to Nina, Shirley, Marie, Ji Won, Sophia, Laura, and other many people that I was helped by. I will miss them, but I believe that we can meet again!!

I want to enjoy the time which is left for us.

Friday, Saturday,& Sunday

On Friday, we went to Nina’s house and had a BBQ party. I saw Ji Won’s magic for the first time. He was a good magician because no one could see how he did it.

After that, we enjoyed karaoke. Ji Won and Laura were very very good singers, so their collaboration was wonderful!! Also, their Japanese was very good. I sang “Girlfriend” with Sophia and other friends and had fun. Everyone was so excited.

On Saturday, we went to Annapolis. The streets are lined with neat rows of stores and houses. I liked the town very much. I ate crab, which is famous in Maryland. I also enjoyed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Cruise. The bridge was so beautiful.

On Sunday, I visited National Museum of the American Indian. I saw the short videos about how stars were developed. The structure of the museum was so complicated that I had no idea that which areas I hadn’t see yet.

In the afternoon, I went to National Museum of Natural History. There were many things such as diamonds, fossils, and photographs. I was so glad that I could see the diamond which was used in the movie of “Titanic”.

I want to make more memories in three days.

Wednesday & Thursday

Hi everyone!
On Wednesday, we went to Channel 9 and watched a live news broadcast. I could enter the director’s room and saw how directors change screen which is on line. Also, I learned why announcers can look at only one camera. That is because the part which they speak can be seen in the camera. I was surprised at this system. At night, we went to Japanese restaurant for dinner. I ate yakiudon and oyakodon and California roll. The taste of yakiudon and oyakodon is different from Japanese one. But they were delicious.

On Thursday, we went to IDB. I understood what this organization is doing for the world. I found it difficult to work for this organization because staffs have to be able to speak more than two main languages such as English, Spanish, Portuguese, and so on. After that, we went to American museum and saw many interesting paintings.
I also learned important expression from Sophia. When I see a man who is good looking, we can say “He is delicious.” or “He is yummy.” I want to use this phrase someday. Haha~(^^)

I went to a big supermarket yesterday. First of all, I was surprised at the size of shopping carts. I thought they are big because the food is also big. I bought a lot of snacks for my family and friends in Japan. I’m worrying whether my suitcase can hold all of them.
At night, we went to Hard Times Café which is located near the supermarket. I ate some kinds of chicken wings. They taste a little strange, like a spicy umeboshi, but delicious. After dinner, I got a kiss from Sophia. It made me happy. Everyone was excited and this night was a kissing night.
In the hotel, we got together and ate donuts and snacks. I want to do this kind of small party (?) again!!!

Hello! Everyone!

I’m staying in Maryland from August 2 with AGU members. I want to have a good time with mentors and teachers and make wonderful memories. At first, I didn’t like American food. It tastes good, but too oily and big. But I’m getting used to it.

By the way, I went to Pentagon city to go shopping yesterday. I was excited all the time because there were many shops. Perhaps, I went almost all shops with Kana. I bought a lot of accessories. On my way to Pentagon city, I talked with Laura about Hanayoridango2 and Japanese actors and so on. I shouted with Kana on the train. I’m sorry.(;_;)

Today, I took a class in the morning. After that, we went to The Washington Post. I felt happy because Japanese machines were used!! I wanted to see the machine working.
